MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – Belarusian MPs expect the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to bring peace and tranquility to the country, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko told reporters on 22 October as he answered a question of a BelTA journalist.
“Just like the entire progressive world, we want peace and tranquility in Ukraine. Ukraine is a brotherly nation and, of course, we are upset by the developments going on there,” he said.
The Speaker noted that Belarusian MPs will take part in the monitoring of the Ukraine parliamentary elections as part of the international mission of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. The mission will include Deputy Chairman of the Commission for Healthcare, Physical Education, Family and Youth Policy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Valentin Miloshevsky and Chairman of the Permanent Commission for Education, Science, Culture and Social Development of the Council of the Republic of Belarus Nikolai Kazarovets.
The elections to the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada will be held on 26 October. The Belarusian observers will leave for Ukraine on 24 October and come back to Minsk on 27 October.
