MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) – Humanitarian cooperation should make a platform for the development of every CIS member state as well as the CIS as a whole, First Deputy Information Minister of Belarus Liliya Ananich told BelTA at the 8^th CIS Forum of Creative and Academic Intellectuals on 24 September.

“Humanitarian cooperation should be a platform for the development of every CIS member state and the development of the CIS in general. Look what is going on in the world. Europe has united. Centers of power are formed which do not always act in a good cause,” Liliya Ananich said stressing that the countries in the post Soviet Union space should demonstrate an absolutely different level of humanitarian, economic and political order.

According to Liliya Ananich, today the CIS countries cannot do without each other. In her words, the point of the Belarusian policy is to develop in close integration processes with the CIS countries and in good neighbor relations with the whole world.

The 8^th CIS Forum of Creative and Academic Intellectuals opened at the National Library of Belarus on 24 September. The event attracted delegations from ten CIS states. The delegations included creative and scientific intellectuals, who work in the spheres of education, culture, healthcare, environmental protection, mass media, and humanitarian activities. The forum envisages sections on education, youth policy, information policy and mass media, tourism, cultural cooperation and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage, healthcare development.

The forum will run through 26 September. The organizers of the forum are the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund, the Government of Belarus under the auspices of the President of Belarus, the CIS Executive Committee, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Minsk City Hall.
