MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – Belarus is a valuable partner for Indonesia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Russia and Belarus Djauhari Oratmangun said at the meeting to mark the 20^th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Indonesia, BelTA has learnt.

The diplomat emphasized considerable intensification of bilateral relations in 2013. He reminded the participants of the meeting that Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko paid a visit to Indonesia in March. In May Belarus hosted Indonesia’s parliamentary delegation led by Speaker of the People’s Representative Council Marzuki Alie. The countries signed seven memorandums of mutual relationship in various areas: agriculture, defense, science and technology, avoidance of double taxation. Mutual trade increased as well. “We see all the grounds to continue making our relations stronger,” the diplomat said. According to Djauhari Oratmangun, in 2014 Indonesia plans to take part in several exhibitions of Belarus.

The Ambassador emphasized the importance of developing relations between the ASEAN member states (Indonesia is among key players in the union) and the Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan.

“I am confident that we will continue our efficient cooperation in the future,” the Ambassador said.
