Alexei Solovyev: Belarusian manufacturers keep up product quality standards

GRODNO, 9 October (BelTA) – Belarusian manufacturers still keep up high product quality standards, BelTA learned from Alexei Solovyev, Deputy Editor in Chief of the Kommuna newspaper of the Russian city of Voronezh. Alexei Solovyev took part in a media tour arranged for reporters of Russian regional mass media in Grodno Oblast.

According to Alexei Solovyev, the Belarusians have not lost what they had in the past. Instead the Belarusians have built on what they had taking into account the market, international competition, and have set very high product standards. As a result, Belarusian productsmeat and dairy products, agricultural machines and other things — sell well everywhere thanks to the affordable prices.

The reporter remarked that the country lives “in a good tempo”, major factories operate, small enterprises grow larger, foreign trade is developed. Yet it is obvious that instead of simply manufacturing Belarusian producers aim to make competitive import substitutes.

“I like the fact that there are Belarus-made trolleybuses in your streets as well as MAZ buses, I like that they have been made at your own factories,” said Alexei Solovyev.

The mass media tour for Russian reporters is meant to highlight topical aspects of Belarus-Russia cooperation. It gathered over 80 reporters from 60 federal and regional Russian media. On 8 October the reporters visited the Grodno-based enterprise SOOO Conte Spa, the Grodno Oblast Heart Clinic, the agricultural enterprise Obukhovo, the dairy farm Batorovka, the agricultural enterprise Progress, the farm tourism estate Tyzenhaus Country Mansion in Karolino. On 9 October the reporters are expected to get familiar with the operation of manufacturing enterprises and sport facilities in the town of Lida.
