MINSK, 27 July (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes have bagged five more medals on the third day of the 2017 European Youth Olympic Festival in Gyor, Hungary, BelTA has learned.
Vladislav Shakhnitsky and Anastasia Zhuk clinched gold in the Mixed C2-500m, setting a new record. Anna Pashchenko, Irina Shkred, Maksim Khutsky and Ilya Kozlovsky claimed the Mixed K4-500m bronze. Anastasia Zhuk took bronze in the Women’s C1-500m.
Shot-putter Karina Yeginyan and javelin thrower Roman Gmyrak collected bronze medals.
Earlier, Belarusian swimmer Anastasia Skurdai clocked 1:01.76 to take silver in the 100m Backstroke. Belarusian judokas Glafira Bakhur and Vladislav Dzvonik claimed bronze medals in the -44kg and -50kg weight categories respectively.
The Belarusian women’s basketball team snapped a losing streak with a 73-64 win against Italy.
Today Belarusian athletes will continue competing in athletics, judo, cycling, artistic gymnastics, and swimming.
The European Youth Summer Olympic Festival, held between 23 and 30 July 2017, features athletes aged between 12 and 18.
