Direct air service between China, Belarus as of 1 May

MINSK, 30 April (BelTA-Xinhua) – Direct travels by air between China and Belarus are now available. As of 1 May Air China will offer flights that will connect Beijing, Minsk, and Budapest, BelTA has learned.

The idea to establish direct air service between China, Belarus, and Hungary has been put forward by the Chinese air carrier Air China. In particular, the step is supposed to contribute to the creation of the economic belt of the Silk Road of the 21st century’s Silk Road of the Sea.

The flights along the route Beijing-Minsk-Budapest will be serviced by an Airbus 330-200 four times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The return trip will not include transfers in Minsk.

The decision to establish direct air service has been prompted by increasing air traffic between Asia and Belarus – 26% up per annum on the average. The number of Chinese tourists visiting Hungary rises by 15% per annum on the average.

Air China is the top air carrier that offers transportation between China and Europe. The company had 328 passenger lines as of March 2015. The Beijing-Minsk-Budapest line is the 18th line for Air China in the European direction.
