Record high number of international observers registered for parliamentary elections in Belarus

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) -  A record high number of international observers has been accredited for the elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the seventh convocation, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina said as she met with representatives of the CIS election observation mission, BelTA has learned.

“To date, we have registered 1,032 international observers, which is the highest number in the last ten years. The largest mission is that of the CIS -  475 observers,” Lidia Yermoshina said. “I think that not a single thing will go unnoticed by observers,” she added.

According to the CEC head, 28,000 national observers have been accredited to date. “I think that their number will increase tomorrow. Traditionally we have about 40,000 national observers at elections," she said.
