Belarus' CEC registers no complaints from international observers

MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – No serious complaints and appeals have been filed with the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus from the international observers of the elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus of the seventh convocation, the Central Election Commission told the media on 10 October, BelTA has learned.

Appeals lodged by national observers are of insignificant matter. “National observers seem to be itching for excuses,” the CEC said.

An observer’s appeal has been received from the Prosecutor General’s Office. “It says that the ID of a member of the oblast election commission is signed by a chairman of the oblast council and not by a chairman of the oblast executive commission. This is not even a violation,” the CEC said.

As of 7 October, some 867 national observers have been accredited to monitor the elections to the House of Representatives.
