Humanitarian project World in Harmony
Project name: World in harmony: mediation, inclusive education, development of conflict resolution skills

Implementation period: November 2019 - November 2021

Applicant: State educational institution "Minsk City Institute for Development of Education"

Project goal:

To introduce mediation practices to solve issues in a family, society and educational environment.

To detect and solve issues arising in a family, society and educational environment.

To teach parties to a conflict to solve common problems on their own and to provide help in solving similar problems to those in need.

Project objectives:

1. To develop and test a model for the implementation of mediation technologies in an educational institution, family and society.

2. To monitor the participants of educational relations with a view to identifying issues, problem situations in an educational institution, family and society.

3. To develop educational programs for teachers, students, legal representatives on conflict and dispute resolution using mediation technologies.

4. To organize a presentation of the best practices in resolving conflict situations and implementation of mediation technologies in the educational environment, family and society at city conferences and roundtables.

5. To prepare the digest “Mediation technologies in an educational institution, family, and society”.

Target group: Teachers, legal representatives, students of institutions of general secondary education, public organizations.

Brief description of the project activities:

• To organize seminars, conferences, roundtables for teachers, legal representatives on the topics:

- Mediation practices and methods;
- Profession of the mediator;
- Effective ways to resolve disagreements, conflicts in everyday life;
- Mediation to resolve difficult situations in the family, community, society, etc.

• To hold master classes for pedagogical workers of the city to discuss the formation of moral values in students in the system of interaction between educational institutions and children's and youth associations;

• To hold mass events (festivals, forums to showcase best practices in the application of mediation technologies in an inclusive educational environment, parent-child relationships, and the examples of resolving similar conflict situations with participation of inclusive education volunteer groups);

• To arrange volunteer events “We are together”; “We choose harmony” and others with the participation of children and youth with disabilities, children of different ethnicities and cultures;

• To develop educational programs and educational interactive classes for teachers, leaders and volunteers from among students, representatives of the parental community and public organizations;

• To prepare the digest “Mediation technologies in educational institutions, family, and society” and to develop teaching materials for classes with teachers, students and other stakeholders;

• To organize a conference to summarize the experience.
