Humanitarian project: Territory of  Childhood
Project name: Territory of Childhood

Implementation period: 2019–2021

Applicant: Uzda District Social And Educational Center

Project objective: Helping children without parental care to overcome а difficult situation, stay mentally well and build confidence in the future by means of creating conditions for personal growth.

Project goals:

а) to protect the rights and legitimate interests of children in vulnerable situations, to deliver early childhood education and extra-curricular activities for children and the youth.

b) to demonstrate that the government cares for children who got into a difficult  situation.

с) to create conditions for effective socialization of children without parental care living in the children's shelter.

d) to create conditions for protecting the interests and meeting the needs of children without parental care living in the children’s shelter; to build an effective system to improve teacher professional development in fragile contexts.

е) tо create conditions for internalizing the norms and ideologies of society.

f) to improve the physical infrastructure of the children's shelter.

Target group: Minors in need of protection.

Brief description of the project activities:

- to replace the roof of the building;
- to repair the facade of the building;
- to pave the paths around the building with asphalt;
- to repair a laundry and purchase the necessary laundry equipment;
- to buy and install outdoor fitness equipment for a playground;
- to buy furniture for bedrooms and a classroom;
- to create a barrier-free environment for children with special needs;
- to replace gas boilers;
- to re-equip and repair bedrooms for children;
- to repair a shower room and buy а shower cabin;
- to replace interior doors;
- to purchase computers and office equipment;
- to buy and install a gutter system on the roof.
- to purchase teaching aids for the children's shelter;
- to purchase an interactive whiteboard.

Total amount of financing (USD): $101,000

Donor funds: $100,000
Co-financing: $1,000
