Opinion: Minor violations are always present at elections in any country

MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) - Minor violations are always present at elections in any country, believes Alexander Yushkevich, Chairman of the Belarusian Committee of Youth Organizations. The opinion was voiced in response to news about violations in the operation of some election commissions, BelTA has learned.

Some minor violations are part of the practice in the voting process in any country, said the Chairman of the Belarusian Committee of Youth Organization.

Yet in his words, the parliamentary elections are proceeding as normal, in line with national laws. “As always, Belarus citizens vigorously support the elections. It is a time to celebrate for most of them,” he explained.

Speaking about the operation of observers, Alexander Yushkevich remarked that he expects objective opinions from international bodies. “I would like to see an evaluation we deserve,” he stressed.

He believes that it is too early to compare the previous elections and the present ones. “Some time has yet to pass. After that, one can start analyzing,” the expert believes.
