MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina will take part in the election legislation discussions at the OSCE conference in Vienna, BelTA learnt from CEC Secretary Nikolai Lozovik.
“Today at the OSCE conference Lidia Yermoshina will take part in the discussion of issues related to the improvement of the election legislation and the practices of preparing for and holding the elections,” Nikolai Lozovik said.
In his words, the OSCE believes that the participation of Belarusian representatives is necessary for the adequate discussion of the issues related to the election process. “OSCE views as necessary to invite the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Belarus despite the restrictive sanctions approved by the European Parliament,” the CEC Secretary said.
It is expected that Lidia Yermoshina will return to Minsk on 21 June.
