Vladimir Putin arrives in Belarus for summits

Vladimir Putin in Belarus MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Belarus to take part in the summits, BelTA has learnt.

Vladimir Putin is expected to take part in sessions of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the level of heads of state and the CIS Heads of State Council in Minsk on 24-25 October.

Belarus and Russia are strategic partners. The legal framework of the Belarusian-Russian relations includes more than 150 international agreements. Belarus and Russia enjoy well-established all-round cooperation, including in politics, economy, social sphere and culture.

In 2012 the bilateral trade totaled $43,824,600, up 9.6%.

In Belarus there are 2,670 Russian-funded organizations, including 1,611 joint companies and 960 foreign firms. An estimated 87 joint assembly plants are registered in the Russian Federation.
