MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) - UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative Sanaka Samarasinha and Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Joanna Wronecka signed a partnership agreement in Warsaw on the implementation of two new projects promoting healthy lifestyle in Brest and Lida for a total amount of $295,830, BelTA learned from the press service of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The projects will promote healthy lifestyle and establish an accessible environment for sports activities for people of various ages and with different physical abilities.
The project provides for establishing a multifunctional sport center and organizing a bike ride in Brest. Thanks to the project, a 10km-long bikeway will be constructed in Lida. Both initiatives are great examples of cooperation between the countries, local communities and civil society in creating an enabling environment and opportunities to promote healthy lifestyle in Belarus.
Poland has vast experience in implementing development projects in Belarus within the cross-border cooperation programs, the UNDP press service said.
