GOMEL, 25 October (BelTA) – Three documents on interregional cooperation were signed at an official meeting of regional authorities of Belarus and Ukraine with the administration of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee on 25 October during the 1^st Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine that is taking place in Gomel on 25-26 October, BelTA has learned.

In fact, the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee signed an interregional cooperation agreement with the Zaporozhie Regional State Administration and a memorandum of cooperation with the Kiev Regional State Administration. Mogilev and the town of Yuzhny of Odessa Oblast signed a twin-town agreement.

By the way, a number of documents on interregional cooperation are to be signed on the second day of the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Ukraine on 26 October.

Speaking about cooperation prospects, Chairman of the Zaporozhie Regional State Administration Konstantin Bryl noted that the Ukrainian side has proposals in power engineering, aircraft engineering, mechanical engineering and other industries. Zaporozhie Oblast would welcome Belarusian proposals on processing of agricultural products, metallurgy and other sectors.

Konstantin Bryl believes that the ongoing forum is an efficient platform for promoting bilateral contacts, because it allows discussing cooperation not only at the interstate level, but also at the level of private business.
