Support promised to private manufacturers in Belarus

MOGILEV, 5 November (BelTA) – Private businessmen, who create manufacturing enterprises, will be supported in Belarus. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko made the statement while talking to workers of the company OOO Protos in Mogilev Oblast on 5 November, BelTA has learned.

“Those, who create manufacturing enterprises, manufacturing divisions using their own resources or loans, will always get support,” assured Alexander Lukashenko.

The President remarked that he had never spoken against private property. “If private businessmen are everywhere, they should be able to set up manufacturing enterprises on their own. Let’s assume the way it is done in Protos Company that makes metal structures, including structures for bridges,” said the head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko remarked that he has a special attitude to privatization: “We privatize enterprises but not across the board like some countries do. If we see that an enterprise does not perform well, we allow private businessmen to buy it — not for a song — and work”. As an example Alexander Lukashenko mentioned agriculture where private enterprises make up one third of the total number of agricultural enterprises. “And the process will continue,” he added.

“The country needs honesty and justice. Come and start any enterprise starting with farm tourism estates, which by the way work very well. May we see more enterprises that make products instead of reselling them,” stressed the President.
