MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) - The agenda of the CIS summit in Minsk includes 17 issues regarding political, humanitarian, and security cooperation. The preparation for the summit was discussed during the meeting between Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee - CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev on 6 October, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko said that Minsk has recently hosted a number of significant political events. This week, for example, the President of Turkmenistan will visit Belarus. The capital city will also play host to a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State and a session of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council at the highest level.

Speaking about the CIS summit, the Belarus President noted that this event is of extreme importance as the CIS is going through a difficult and crucial period. “In this light, all the meetings and decisions will be of great importance.
