At the narrow-format session of the high-level group of the Union State Council of Ministers Sergei Rumas and Igor Shuvalov discussed a number of sensitive issues of the agenda. “We found solutions for the issues we discussed,” Sergei Rumas noted with satisfaction.

He said that the agenda of the today’s session of the high-level group includes six issues. “The majority of these issues are connected with the forthcoming session of the Union State Council of Ministers which will take place in Minsk on 21 October. We need to find all solutions to submit a package of documents to the prime ministers,” Sergei Rumas remarked.

Igor Shuvalov, for his part, reminded that the prime ministers of Belarus and Russia, experts, vice-premiers met a few days ago to discuss the distribution of export duties on oil products, which are made in Belarus from Russian oil. This is a sensitive issue for Belarus and Russia, he said. “We have found corresponding solutions. Our government will be informed about these solutions,” Igor Shuvalov said. In his words, this issue is on the agenda of the today’s meeting of the Russian government.

On the whole, the sides acknowledged that such meetings are productive. “As practice shows, the format of such meetings is very useful. We manage to solve many disputes in the working mode,” Sergei Rumas said.
