MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) - The OSCE/ODIHR needs assessment mission will issue its report following their visit to Belarus soon, spokesman for the OSCE/ODIHR Thomas Rymer told BelTA.
“I expect that the needs assessment report will be published by the end of July,” Mr Thomas Rymer noted. The report will provide the information gathered by the mission in its meetings with electoral stakeholders, including representatives of the relevant authorities and political parties, as well as individual candidates, and representatives from the media and civil society. “Based on this information, the report will contain a recommendation as to what format and size of mission, if any, should be deployed for the presidential election,” the spokesman said.
“As the recommendation by the needs assessment mission has yet to be made, the mission has not yet been formed, nor have the specifics regarding its size and period of deployment been determined,” Mr Thomas Rymer noted.
As was reported, the OSCE/ODIHR needs assessment mission was in Belarus on a visit from 15 to 17 July.
