KLAIPEDA, 17 April (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich and Prime Minister of Lithuania Algirdas Butkevicius are expected to meet in Klaipeda on 17 April to discuss prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the economic sphere, the press service of the Belarus government told BelTA.
Mikhail Myasnikovich is in Klaipeda as head of the Belarusian delegation to take part in the Belarusian-Lithuanian economic forum, which is taking place on 17-19 April.
Several meetings and events have been scheduled for 17 April. In particular, the Belarusian Prime Minister intends to meet with top executives of the Klaipeda sea port administration, examine the port and the terminal. A presentation of capabilities of stevedoring companies is planned.
The international Belarusian-Lithuanian business forum is held annually to discuss matters of trade, economic, and investment cooperation. This year the Belarusian delegation includes about 100 people. Those are representatives of government agencies, business, the chamber of commerce and industry. About 300 people are expected to take part in the forum. The previous forum was held in Grodno.
