Practical cooperation between Belarus and OSCE/ODIHR discussed in Minsk

MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) - The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted a meeting between Denis Sidorenko, the Director of the European Cooperation Department at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a delegation of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) headed by Marcin Walecki, Chief of ODIHR’s Democratic Governance and Gender Unit, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting the parties exchanged the views on the development of practical cooperation between Belarus and the OSCE/ODIHR, including the joint projects in the human dimension. The parties also discussed the prospects of organizing a workshop on international justice standards and an international conference on the participation of women in political life in Minsk in 2016.

The program of the visit also envisages meetings in the Supreme Court, Ministry of Labor and Social Security, National Center of Legislation and Legal Research, Belarusian State University (BSU), and the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Judges, Prosecutors, and Legal Professionals at the BSU.
