MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – The Pakistani delegation led by Governor of Balochistan Province Muhammad Khan Achakzai is paying a visit to Belarus from 19 to 25 February on the invitation of the Brest Oblast Governor, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Pakistan.
The program of the visit includes the talks with representatives of the Belarusian Industry Ministry, the Brest Oblast Executive Committee, the Brest Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Administration of FEZ Brest, Brestenergo, Savushkin Product, Brest Carpets, Santa Bremor and other companies. The Pakistani delegation is also expected to visit the Pushkin Brest State University.
The visit is held as part of the protocol on cooperation between the Brest Oblast Executive Committee and the government of Balochistan Province, Pakistan signed in Islamabad on 10 November 2015. The visit opens a new page in the interregional cooperation between the two countries. In November 2015, during the official visit of the Belarusian Prime Minister to Islamabad, the similar documents were signed between other Pakistani provinces and Belarusian oblasts.
Balochistan is one of four provinces of Pakistan. It is the biggest province in the country. The economy of Balochistan is largely based upon the production of natural gas, coal and other minerals. Other important economic sectors include fisheries, mining, manufacturing industries, trade and other services being rendered by public and private sector organizations.
