Pakistan MPs may visit Belarus

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) – A visit of Pakistan’s parliamentary delegation to Belarus is under consideration, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said on 18 December, BelTA informs.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, senators will have an eventful international program in the interim period. First of all, it will include preparations for the third Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia which is due to take place in Minsk. “There are plans to further build on bilateral contacts. A visit of Pakistan’s parliamentary delegation to Belarus is under consideration. Visits of Belarus MPs to India, Iran and Oman are considered as well,” noted the Speaker of the Council of the Republic.

The work will be continued in the Parliamentary Assembly of Belarus-Russia Union State, the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and other international organizations, including the preparations for the participation in the 134th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the Council of the Republic has been actively using the parliamentary diplomacy practices in the work on increasing and diversifying Belarusian exports. “It is still too early to speak about the productivity of this activity. However, we, for example, have undertaken the responsibility for addressing issues regarding the construction of four pharmaceutical plants in Belarus in cooperation with Indian companies, ensure the opening of several Belarusian machine-building trade and service centers in India, Turkmenistan, and the implementation of some other projects,” he added.
