MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Ahmet Uzumcu will visit Belarus on 18-20 May, spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry Dmitry Mironchik told a press briefing on 15 May, BelTA has learned.
As part of the visit Ahmet Uzumcu will meet with Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei, the Emergencies Minister and the Education Minister, the head of the Belarusian State Oil and Chemistry Concern. The sides are expected to discuss a wide range of issues concerning the enhancement of cooperation between Belarus and the OPCW.
The head of the OPCW Technical Secretariat will deliver a lecture at the Belarusian State University, visit the chemical lab for scientists and students at the BSU. He will also make a tour to the Institute for Retraining and Professional Development of the Emergencies Ministry and get familiar with the operation of services responsible for the prevention and mitigation of emergencies.
