MINSK, 25 October (BelTA) – President Nicolae Timofti of Moldova has arrived in Belarus to take part in the CIS Heads of State Council on 25 October, BelTA has learnt.
The summit will be the key event within Belarus’ presidency in the CIS in 2013.
The agenda of the summit includes 14 issues that cover various aspects of cooperation from humanitarian activities to security and economic relations.
Belarus and Moldova keep momentum in bilateral relations, which are based on trade and economic cooperation. In 2012 the trade between Belarus and Moldova totaled $338.5 million (5.9% on 2011). The Belarusian export reached $253.4 million. Belarus’ main exports include products of the petrochemical complex, tractors, trolleybuses, tires, fiberglass, ceramic tiles, pharmaceutical drugs, light industrial goods, sugar, dairy products.
