Myasnikovich meets with China President

BEIJING, 21 January (BelTA) - Belarus’ Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich met with President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China on 21 January during his official visit to that country, BelTA has learnt.

The meeting participants noted that Belarus and China have been maintaining stable and healthy relations for many years. Together the countries have achieved great results, which proves that Belarus and China are friends and partners who can rely on each other.

Mikhail Myasnikovich praised the countries’ cooperation in the United Nations and other international organizations. “Belarus and China have common approaches to the formation of a just world order. Our country always feels China’s support and invariable friendliness in the international arena,” Mikhail Myasnikovich noted. Belarus, in turn, shares China’s views. “We welcome China’s achievements in politics and economy,” the Belarusian head of government added.

For his part, Xi Jinping said that the development of bilateral relations is important both for China and Belarus. Mikhail Myasnikovich’s visit is taking place shortly after the visit of President Alexander Lukashenko in July 2013 and this shows that the relations are of great significance for the partners and that they are on a very high level. “Your visit has given a new impetus to the bilateral relations,” Xi Jinping said addressing Mikhail Myasnikovich.

In July 2013 Belarus and China announced the establishment of strategic partnership, which heralded the new level of the bilateral relations. Currently the sides are ready to exert every effort to develop these relations.
