More Belarusian diplomatic missions for Africa

MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – Belarus plans to expand its network of diplomatic missions in Africa. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made the statement as he received credentials from the ambassadors of Angola, Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, and Guinea-Bissau on 16 April, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus sees great prospects for advancing relations with the countries of the African continent. With this in mind we plan to further expand the network of our diplomatic missions in Africa step by step. We have something to offer to partners from Nigeria, Angola, Cote d'Ivoire, and Guinea-Bissau,” noted the President.

Alexander Lukashenko pointed out the considerable potential for cooperation in trade and economic sphere. For instance, Belarus manufactures a wide choice of industrial and agricultural products, which are in demand on the markets of African countries. Work has already begun to start the joint production of Belarus tractors, MAZ trucks and buses in Nigeria. “Nigeria is the foothold in the huge African continent where we have decided to work very seriously,” said the Belarusian leader.

“Belarus is also rightfully proud of its achievements in science, education, transport, and civil engineering. I urge you to use these opportunities for bolstering the interstate ties in all the areas,” remarked the head of state. “We expect the cooperation between our countries to get a considerable impulse in order to reach new heights with your aid”.
