MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) - Belarus’ Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei will visit the Islamic Republic of Iran on 16-17 March, Spokesman for the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Mironchik told media on 13 March, BelTA has learnt.

During the visit Vladimir Makei will meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry will also hold talks with Speaker of the National Consultative Assembly of Iran Ali Larijani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iranian Minister of Industries and Mines, co-chairman of the Belarusian-Iranian commission for economic cooperation Mohammadreza Nematzadeh and other officials.

The parties are going to discuss the pressing matters of the bilateral relations, especially in view of the Geneva agreement that came into effect in January 2014. “The parties will also discuss the ways of continuing the constructive cooperation in the international arena and expanding cooperation in the field of higher education, science, culture, sport and tourism,” Dmitry Mironchik added.
