MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) - A speedy peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine is in the interests of all CIS countries, Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said when opening the session of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
"Today's situation poses new challenges to the organization which should be dealt with promptly and adequately. The CIS should not allow armed hostilities and suffering of people. The speedy peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine is in the common interests,” said Vladimir Makei. The head of the Foreign Ministry also stressed that every effort should be made to ensure that peace should come to every Ukrainian home.
"The efficiency of these actions depends on us, on our ability to rally together," the minister stressed.
