Makei: Belarus’ export promotion program lays basis for accomplishing key tasks

MINSK, 27 May (BelTA) – The national export support and promotion program for 2016-2020 that is expected to be adopted in Belarus in the near future lays the basis for accomplishing key tasks, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told reporters on 27 May, BelTA has learned.

The minister emphasized that the program lays a solid foundation for fulfilling the tasks set by the head of state with respect to foreign economic activity. The document will provide a framework for the activities of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the next five-year period. The program specifies measures to support exporters, promote products to foreign markets, diversify exports, and consolidate Belarus’ position in traditional markets. These and other measures will help us boost Belarusian exports both in terms of quantity and quality, Vladimir Makei noted.

The key points of the document are reflected in Belarus’ social and economic development program for 2016-2020 to be adopted at the upcoming Belarusian People’s Congress.
