MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – The Year of Youth should make a lasting mark in the memory of many generations, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said at the 42nd congress of the BRSM Youth Union on 20 January, BelTA has learned.

The year 2015 was declared the Year of Youth on the initiative of the BRSM Youth Union. “I want this year to bring noticeable results. If it passes unnoticed, you are not worth a dime,” the president said addressing the participants of the congress.

“Suggest your specific ideas, organize a great number of events that would benefit our community and be remembered by many generations,” the head of state added.

“You are young people ready to break any walls and to destroy everything that hinders our life. You should have long had a plan of action. If you still do not have one, prepare it now so that you would be able to implement it this year. I am ready to go in the front rank together with you,” Alexander Lukashenko pointed out.

He also emphasized that people have always regarded the young years as the time of deep hopes and manifold opportunities. “This is the best time of your life. Make your dreams come true and stay committed to your goals. Put all your heart, your energy and efforts into achieving them,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
