Lukashenko: State will always support its defenders

MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) - The State will always support its defenders, reads the congratulatory message from President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on occasion of the Fatherland Defenders and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus Day, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

“The State has always supported and will support its defenders who ensure peace in our common home,” said the President.

“In our country there is no more sacred duty than defending the homeland. Glory of soldiers of the Great Patriotic War will never fade away. Owing to heroism, courage, patriotism and willingness to sacrifice their lives for the sake of peace, freedom and happiness of people, they wrote the golden pages in the history of the Fatherland,” says the message.

The head of state noted that continueing the traditions of the older generations, descendants of victors securely defend the frontiers of the homeland, guaranteeing the Belarusian people the right for the future, in accordance with their historical choice. Devotion to the interests of the country, high morale and professionalism of soldiers of the Armed Forces confirm their determination to serve selfelessly the Fatherland.
