MINSK, 13 August (BelTA) - President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent birthday greetings to Fidel Castro Ruz, BelTA learned from the president’s press service.

The head of state stressed that people in Belarus appreciate Fidel Castro Ruz as a leader devoted to his Motherland, an outstanding politician, a principled head of state who did his best to promote freedom and sovereignty of Cuba.

According to the Belarusian President, political wisdom and determination, professionalism and personal qualities of Fidel Castro Ruz helped turn the Belarusian-Cuban relations based on the principles of friendship and mutual trust into strategic partnership.
