Lukashenko: Protection of the Motherland will always be a sacred duty of true citizens

MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – The protection of the Motherland has always been and will be a sacred duty of true citizens and patriots, reads the congratulation sent by the Belarus President on the occasion of the Fatherland Defenders Day. The congratulation was read out by State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Mr Leonid Maltsev at the solemn meeting held on 22 February to mark the Fatherland Defenders Day and the 95th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, BelTA has learned.

“From the depth of my heart I congratulate you on the Fatherland Defenders Day and the 95th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. Military service has always been honored in the Belarusian land. Protecting the Motherland has always been and will be a sacred duty of true citizens and patriots while the army has been and will be a true pride of the nation,” the congratulation reads.

The President expressed his sincere gratitude to all the citizens, who regardless of their line of work contribute to stronger and richer Belarus. “We are peaceful people and there is no greater joy than living calmly and working the native land. Our Armed Forces will always be a reliable guarantee of the land’s safety,” the congratulation underlines.
