MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) – The period of mutual misunderstanding and distrust in the Belarusian-German relations is behind, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he received credentials of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Belarus Peter Dettmar on 5 October, BelTA has learned.
“I am convinced that a joint interest in the maintenance of peace and stability in the European region, productive contacts in various fields create good preconditions for the expansion and deepening of the Belarusian-German ties,” the Belarusian head of state stressed.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that Germany which is one of the leaders in foreign trade with Belarus was and still is one of the key European partners of the country. “Therefore, we draw special attention to the development of bilateral cooperation on equal terms,” the Belarusian leader said.
