MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) - Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei have discussed the preparation of the treaty on establishing the Eurasian Economic Union, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.

“The President wanted to know about the work carried out in pursuance of his earlier instructions, including in the field of Eurasian integration and the drafting of the Eurasian Economic Union treaty. Alexander Lukashenko asked to focus on problems in this field,” the press service said.

“The process is a new one and it cannot be flawless. It is natural that there can be problems,” the head of state noted.

Vladimir Makei informed the President on the views of the sides regarding the preparation of the Eurasian Economic Union treaty. The head of state was also informed about Belarus’ negotiations with Russia and Kazakhstan in view of Kazakhstan’s accession to the WTO.
