BURABAY, 16 October (BelTA) – It is essential to make decisions on the topical issues in bilateral relations, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Russia President Vladimir Putin on 16 October, BelTA has learned.
“We could outline pending issues regarding the Belarusian-Russian relations in the near future,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The Belarusian President suggested making final decisions on the pending issues either at the session of the Supreme State Council or during his visit to Moscow.
Speaking about cooperation in the CIS, Alexander Lukashenko remarked that Belarus and Russia have the same opinions on all issues. The Presidents agreed that this platform for cooperation is needed; the colleagues from other countries agree that it should be adapted to present-day realities.
Vladimir Putin, in turn, once again congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on winning the election and expressed confidence that the countries will continue working together to improve the Union State mechanisms, solve economic issues, harmonize positions in the international arena and in the social sector.
