Lukashenko informed about government plans to boost manufacturing export

MINSK, 21 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich has informed President Alexander Lukashenko about plans of the government to expand the export of industrial output, BelTA has learnt.

Alexander Lukashenko drew the attention of the Premier to the fact that despite a certain increase in GDP, there are still many so-called bottlenecks related, first of all, to the export and sale of finished products. The head of state also asked about the fulfillment of his instructions to implement a number of projects. One of them is modernization of wood processing companies. “Work is underway to fulfill your instructions on wood processing. Not all of them (companies – BelTA’s note) have reached the designed capacity yet, but we are doing our best to meet the deadlines established by you,” Mikhail Myasnikovich informed.

“I do not want a situation when upgraded companies ask us for money to boost their current assets because they cannot sell the goods they have produced. It is unacceptable,” the head of state said.

After the meeting, the Premier told reporters that the aggregate amount of accounts receivable and warehouse inventory reduced by over $1.1 billion over the previous year. “However, the share of warehouse inventory is still pretty high. We believe that by October the warehouse inventory will be reduced and the tasks related to the export of mechanical engineering products will be fulfilled,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
