Lukashenko honors Belarusian art luminaries in 2015

MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has conferred the awards For Spiritual Revival and special prizes to Belarusian art luminaries in 2015. The head of state signed corresponding decrees on 30 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The President conferred five awards For Spiritual Revival in 2015 on the groups of authors and workers for vigorous humanitarian activities.

One of the awardees is the group of authors comprising part-time worker of the main international broadcast directorate of the Belarusian Radio Yelena Khoroshevich and professor of the criminal executive law chair at the Interior Ministry Academy Anatoly Sharkov. They have created a requiem book To Live and Remember which summed up the results of the work to unveil and study the places of burial of those Belarusians who liberated the Fatherland in various parts of Europe.

The prize has been bestowed upon Bishop of Borisov and Maryina Gorka Veniamin for a big contribution to Belarus’ spiritual revival, enlightenment and charity activities.

The prize has been conferred on the employees of the national research center Mother and Child for great achievements in the implementation of events to preserve the lives and health of mothers and children.

The award has been also conferred on the team of the National Art Museum of Belarus for organizing large-scale exhibition projects aimed at the promotion of spiritual values in the modern society.

The award winners include Cheslav Kurechko, the rector of the Holy Trinity Parish religious community in the village of Rositsa of the Verkhnedvinsk district local religious association “Vitebsk Diocese of the Roman-Catholic Church in Belarus”. His great contribution to the interreligious peace and national accord, active participation in the spiritual and educational activities of the country and promotion of a healthy lifestyle have earned him a widespread recognition in the society.

Ten special prizes of the President of the Republic of Belarus have been awarded to figures of culture and art, men of science, educators, teams of authors, cultural institutions for great achievements in visual and performing arts, amateur art, museology, education of young people.

The award has been presented to a team of contributors of the Television News Agency of the Belarusian TV and Radio Company consisting of correspondent of the culture news department Natalya Bordilovskaya, chief director Oleg Dolgopolov and head of the culture news department Mikhail Revutsky for the historical documentary series "They Sang for the Motherland" and other projects aimed at the patriotic education of the youth.

A team comprising chief research officer of the nonlinear optics lab at the Stepanov Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Pavel Apanasevich, First Deputy General Director of OOO Magiya Sveta Sergei Girnak, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ZAO Holography Industry company Leonid Tannin have been honored in recognition of their significant contribution to the preservation of the national cultural traditions and creation of visual images of the Orthodox shrines using holographic technology.

Art director Alexander Kosyuchenko and chief director Mikhail Pandzhavidze of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater have been honored for the significant achievements in the development of contemporary opera and for the production The Tsar's Bride.

The team of the Maxim Gorky National Academic Drama Theater got a state award for the significant contribution to the preservation of the national cultural traditions and the play Pesnyar devoted to the creative life of Vladimir Mulyavin.

An award was conferred on the troupe of the Belarusian State Youth Theater who have achieved a great success and made a considerable contribution to the development and promotion of theater art. The awardees also include the team of the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War who contribute to the development of museum practices and the patriotic education of the people of Belarus.

Konstantin Kostyuchenko, Assistant Professor of Sculpture at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts, was honored with an award for the monument Memory Gate at the memorial complex Trostenets and other works of monumental art. Anatoly Kuznetsov, member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, got an award for many years of creative work and his masterpiece paintings.

An award was conferred on the exemplary ensemble Onoshkovskiye Muzykanty (Onoshki Musicians) of the Onoshki children’s music school for their consistent efforts to preserve the national cultural traditions and for the active concert life.
