MINSK, 3 October (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has extended greetings to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier as the country celebrates the Day of German Unity, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Modern Germany remains one of Belarus’ main partners in Europe and the world, including in the area of ensuring peace and stability in the European region,” the greetings read.

The head of state expressed confidence that the recent visit of Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Belarus gave a serious impetus to the further deepening of bilateral dialogue and the implementation of the existing potential of Belarus-Germany cooperation.
