MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent birthday greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Belarus is sincerely glad to see the outstanding success of the People's Republic of China under your leadership. Another outstanding example was the fight against the pandemic, when the Chinese people demonstrated their best qualities: wisdom, solidarity and firmness of spirit,” the message of greetings runs.

The head of state stressed that thanks to the far-sighted policy of the Chinese leader, comprehensive approaches and balanced decisions, China confidently holds leading positions in the international arena. The global Belt and Road Initiative has deservedly gained world recognition and united many states on different continents,” the president said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized Xi Jinping's personal contribution to the development of the Belarusian-Chinese partnership and friendship. “Our joint efforts have already resulted in the implementation of joint projects, construction of industrial and social facilities. I am confident that together we will be able to make new landmark achievements for the benefit of the two peoples. Since your historic visit to Belarus in 2015, the bilateral relations have reached a strategic partnership. I look forward to a meeting with you in Minsk, which will fill the whole complex of interstate cooperation with new ideas and projects,” said the president of Belarus.
