MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko believes that Belarus and Ukraine can reach $15 billion in mutual trade in the next five years. The Belarusian leader made this statement while talking to the media in Kyiv following the inauguration ceremony of Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko on 7 June, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that Belarus and Ukraine used to have $7 billion in mutual trade. “I believe that we can reach $15 billion in the next five-year period,” he said. The President of Belarus emphasized the country’s readiness to build up all-round cooperation.
“I was surprised that even during the recent events in Ukraine we had our trade turnover reduced by only 3%. It speaks volumes. We are in demand here,” the Belarusian leader said.
