Lukashenko: Belarus, China should develop cooperation in a faster pace

MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Belarus and China should develop their relations more intensively, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with First Vice Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China Zhang Gaoli on 26 September, BelTA has learned.

The President explained: “Our major interest is in having a very powerful footing on such a huge state as China which is involved in addressing every issue in the world today.” “As for our interest, I have already told Xi Jinping that China’s further development and its positioning in the world as a superpower cannot go without cooperation with Europe,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

In his words, Belarus is ready to intensify all-round contacts, including trading relations between China and Europe. “Belarus is ready to intensify China’s influence in Europe,” the head of state is confident.
