MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko attended the celebrations of the first anniversary of the opening of the Olympic Games in Sochi, BelTA learned from
Belarus 1 TV Channel.“Sochi brought together guests from all over the world. These are participants of the 2014 Olympic Games, volunteers and fans. Upon the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin the ceremony was attended by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The ceremony highlighted the brightest moments of the Olympic Games, including the triumph of Belarusian athletes,” according to the TV channel.
The celebrations took place in the Yug Sport Center. The ceremony hailed the brightest moments of the Olympics and Paralympics.
BelTA reported earlier that Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko
had a short-term vacation in Sochi. The President got familiar with the progress in the development of the Belarusian sports and tourism infrastructure and held a number of meetings. In particular, the Belarusian head of state met with President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
