Lukashenko: All conditions for employment of Ukrainians in Belarus

MINSK, 17 October (BelTA) – There are all conditions in place in Belarus for the Ukrainians coming to our country to get employed, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko told a press conference for the Russian regional mass media, BelTA has learned.

According to the head of state, Ukrainian citizens that come to Belarus “are provided with every condition (the same as Ukraine) to work and earn for living.” He added that there were incidents when people from Ukraine asked for some exceptional conditions. “There are about 10,000 vacancies (information available online) for people arriving in Belarus from Ukraine. About half of them come together with accommodation. Choose, work and earn,” Alexander Lukashenko said. “It is difficult to find a job in Minsk (the same as in Moscow). It is easier to get employed in regions. People, 99.9%, understand it, but some want accommodation and allowances in Minsk,” the Belarusian leader added. There are vacancies in various areas, with the biggest demand in agriculture and construction.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, for Ukrainian people there are no bureaucratic hurdles in crossing the Belarusian border, employment in the country, finding schools and kindergartens for children, getting healthcare assistance. “Ukrainian refugees are provided with the same conditions as Belarusians. I believe it is right,” the President stressed. He assured that such policy would be continued.

According to various estimates, about 27,000-30,000 people have come to Belarus from Ukraine.
