MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – The League of Arab States is interested in expanding cooperation with Belarus. The statement was made by Director of the Europe Department of the League of Arab States Ibrahim Mohyeldin as he met with Ambassador of Belarus to Egypt, Belarus’ resident representative in the League of Arab States Sergei Rachkov on 22 October, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
During the meeting the sides exchanged opinions about a large number of international and regional matters. The sides talked over results of the general political discussion held during the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.
Ibrahim Mohyeldin noted the interest of the League of Arab States in expanding cooperation with Belarus, including by advancing cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Union, and interest in taking part in advancing Belarus’ initiative for supporting traditional family values.
The sides agreed to determine key avenues of cooperation between Belarus and the League of Arab states and to put together a program to advance bilateral interaction.
