MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – Ambassador of Belarus to France and Spain Pavel Latushko presented the copies of credentials to King of Spain Juan Carlos I on 21 January, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus to Paris.
The ceremony was held in Zarzuela Palace, the residence of the Spanish King, located on the outskirts of Madrid. Presenting the credentials, Pavel Latushko stressed Belarus’ interest in the development of mutually beneficial relations with the Kingdom of Spain.
The Belarusian diplomat stressed the importance of intensifying trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. A practical step in this direction will be the organization of presentations of the potential of the Belarusian-Spanish trade, economic and investment cooperation in Madrid and Barcelona. It is expected that such events will be attended by representatives of the Economy and Finance Ministries of Belarus.
Juan Carlos I spoke in favor of developing constructive cooperation in the social, economic and political areas and took note of the importance of an all-round dialogue.
Pavel Latushko informed the King of Spain on the preparations for the Day of the Belarusian Culture in Spain and the work being done for permanent diplomatic presence of Belarus in Spain.
