MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – Japan is showing interest in the Belarusian experience in the post Chernobyl relief and management, Nikolai Tsybulko, Deputy Chief of the Chernobyl Department of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus, told reporters.
“Interaction with Japan takes a big share in our international cooperation. Thus, in December last year the two countries signed an agreement on cooperation and coordination of emergency response related to the Chernobyl and Fukushima accidents,” Nikolai Tsybulko said.
Nikolai Tsybulko informed that in 2012 Belarus welcomed more than 30 delegations from Japan. “These were delegations of all levels: from professionals to ordinary residents of villages and municipalities in Fukushima Prefecture. The Japanese were interested in our opinion, are ready to learn from our experience and share theirs,” he added.
