Interior ministries of Belarus, Georgia sign agreement on cooperation

MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Interior Minister of Belarus Igor Shunevich and Interior Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili met in Minsk on 27 September to sign a joint statement on the implementation of procedures necessary for concluding an agreement on cooperation in crime prevention, BelTA learnt from the Interior Ministry of Belarus.

Igor Shunevich thanked Irakli Garibashvili for his contribution in the development of bilateral relations in the law enforcement field. “Bilateral ties between the Interior Ministries of Georgia and Belarus have been steadily developing. We see a big potential in these relations. We have every necessary condition for it today. The Interior Ministry of Belarus is open to dialogue and bilateral cooperation. Crimes know no borders. That is why we should closely cooperate against interstate and international crime. We are concerned about international drugs traffic, trafficking in human beings, cyber crimes,” he noted. The minister expressed hope that this trip will be useful for Georgian counterparts not only from the professional point of view of getting familiar with the Belarusian Interior Ministry but also be a good reason to learn more about Belarusian culture and hospitality of the Belarusian nation.
