MINSK, 5 April (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Italy Alexander Guryanov presented his credentials to Italian President Sergio Mattarella, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
After the solemn ceremony in the Presidential Palace the Ambassador held a short meeting with the Italian head of state. The parties discussed the Belarusian-Italian cooperation in political, trade, economic and humanitarian areas, as well as promising initiatives of bilateral collaboration, said the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Alexander Guryanov was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Italy and Belarus’ Permanent Representative in the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on 22 December 2015. In March 2016 the President of Belarus appointed him Ambassador to Malta on concurrent accreditation.
Earlier, Alexander Guryanov worked as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
